Kathleen Terry Treynor, 92, of Covington, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2018 at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem. She was the wife of the late Glenn Albert Treynor.

Mrs. Treynor was born Tuesday, November 17, 1925, in Covington, a daughter of the late John Leslie Terry and Lola Wyatt Persinger Terry.

Upon graduating from Covington High School in 1943, she joined the World War II Cadet Nursing Corps to contribute to the war effort.

After nursing training, Kathleen worked most of her life as a registered nurse at several local medical care facilities.

She loved reading, sewing and making clothing for her family, was an avid 007 fan (of which Sean Connery was her favorite James Bond) and enjoyed watching the “Bond-A-Thons” on television every year. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, who she loved very much. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Glenn, Mrs. Treynor was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert “Bob” R. Terry and Leslie P. Terry; sister, Pauline Gossard; and several nieces and a nephew.

Kathleen is survived by her daughters, Glenna Martin and husband, Terry, and Debra Burkholder and husband, Daryl; grandchildren, Michelle Hoke and fiancé, Gary; Angie Baldwin and husband, Tucker; Dabreyl “Bre” Armentrout and husband, Brad; and Daryn Burkholder and wife, Sara; great grandchildren, Hannah Baldwin, Hayden Baldwin, and Vanna Hoke; sister-in-law, Ellen Pearman; an aunt, Rosemary Keaton, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm in the chapel of Loving Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Terry Martin, Daryl Burkholder, Tucker Baldwin, Gary Hoke, Daryn Burkholder, Bre Armentrout, Brad Armentrout, and Hayden Baldwin.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 pm on Friday, June 29, 2018 in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to The Woodlands Resident Activity Fund, 1000 Fairview Ave., Clifton Forge, VA, 24422.

Arrangements are being handled by John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home www.johnmoakey.com and Loving Funeral Home; www.lovingfuneralhome1913.com.
