Lennie Payne Black, 83, of Weyers Cave, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at Augusta Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.
Lennie was born on May 30, 1935, a son of the late Lottie Belle (Hinton) and William Whorton Black. 
He had worked for Blue Ridge Lumber and after retirement he worked at the Staunton Wal-Mart in the electronics department for 10 years.. He served in the U.S. Air Force. 
In 1973 he was in united in marriage to Patsy Rae (Thomson) Black. 
Lennie is survived by two daughters, Patricia Belle “Patty” Skelton and husband, William “Billy”, of Bridgewater, and Maxine Lynn Harris, widow of Thomas Harris, of Grottoes; a step-son, Robert Robertson and wife, Rosemary, of Harrisonburg; two sisters, Myrtle Marshall and husband, Gary, of New Hope, and Annie Tuning, widow of  William Tuning, of Churchville; three grandsons, Joshua Shull, Ryan Harris, and Jason Eubanks, a granddaughter, Cassandra Robertson, and a great-grandson, Adrian Eubanks. 
He is preceded in death by a six brothers, Charles, Marion, Marvin, Jack, Linwood, and Lacy Black; two sisters, Willie Lee Jones, and Mary Belle Black. 
A memorial service will be conducted 1 PM Saturday, Aug. 18th at Johnson Funeral Service in Grottoes, with Rev. Barry Gant officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service. 
Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Church, 255 W. View St., Dayton, VA 22821.
