Henry “Hank” W. Hoffman, of Rockingham, formerly of Grottoes, died December 21, 2017, at White Birch Estates.
He was born July 19, 1920, in Clifton Forge to Henry W. and Arange Hoffman.
Henry was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Engineering, and was employed by Merch and Co for many years. He served in the US Army during WWII where he attained the rank of T/SGT. He was the oldest living member of the Grottoes Volunteer Fire Co.
On October 14, 1948, he was united in marriage to Lauretta “Lala” Furman, who preceded him in death.
Henry is survived by a nephew, Ramon Colonna and wife, Barbara, and a great-niece, Ann Colonna.
He is also preceded in death by a son, Robert Hoffman.
Burial will take place 11AM Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.
