Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Terry, 61, of Covington, and formerly of Virginia Beach, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
Cindy was born November 21, 1956, in Covington, the daughter of the late Robert Ryland Terry and Barbara Gough Terry.

She was employed at The Greenbrier Resort and Hotel as the Assistant to the Information Technologies Director. She formerly worked at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Virginia Beach and also volunteered as a firefighter and paramedic for the Virginia Beach Volunteer Fire Department. Cindy was proud of her time serving for the FEMA VATF2. One of her favorite memories was creating and assembling an emergency and first aid kit for Metallica when she worked for Spec Rescue.

Cindy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and she was a lover of all animals. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by a brother, John R. Terry.
Cindy is survived by her sons, Robert Hendrick and wife, Jessica, of Virginia Beach, Thomas Hendrick, also of Virginia Beach, and Dr. William Hendrick and wife, Kelly, of Durham, N.C.; brother, Andy Terry and wife, Joy, of Covington; former husband and father of her children, Gary Hendrick of Virginia Beach; aunts, Kathleen Treynor and Ellen Pearman, both of Covington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with Father LeBaron Taylor officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Hendrick, Thomas Hendrick, William Hendrick, Gary Hendrick, Andy Terry, and Bre Burkholder.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8:00 p.m. in the Parrish Hall of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 138 N. Maple Ave., Covington, VA 24426 or to the Alleghany Humane Society, P.O. Box 60, Low Moor, and VA 24457.
Arrangements are being handled by Loving Funeral Home; www.lovingfuneralhome1913.com.
