EARLYSVILLE — Lori Ann Keesee, originally from Covington, passed away peacefully Friday, July 21, 2017, after a brief illness.
Born in Covington, she also lived in Lake Charles, La., and Kennett Square, Pa., before settling in Earlysville, where she lived with her family until her death.
She is survived by her loving father, Stuart Keesee; sister, Rosalyn Keesee; niece, Kristen Keesee; a number of uncles, aunts and cousins; and numerous special friends.
Her mother, Jacqueline Eubank Keesee, and both her maternal and paternal grandparents predeceased her.
Lori touched the lives of anyone who knew her.
Although she was affected by cerebral palsy since birth, she never let it hold her back.
She surpassed the expectations of most and achieved many great things.
She was one of the first disabled students to be mainstreamed in the Lake Charles Public School System and earned the position of co-valedictorian of her 400-student class at Barbe High School.
Lori was also one of the first quadriplegic college students to reside on-campus at Louisiana Tech where she completed two years of college.
Additionally, she was also an avid sports fan and an accomplished bowler, and she loved to share her Christian faith with others and cherished her time as the devotion leader for game nights at Spring Hill Baptist Church.
Lori will be remembered for her inquisitive mind, her generous heart, her love of sports (especially UVa basketball) and her bright and beautiful smile.
Her kind and generous nature coupled with her love for friends, family and anyone around her is a true example of how we can all better love one another.
Most of all, we will remember her love for God and her strong faith that sustained her to the very end.
The family will receive friends at Teague Funeral Home Friday, July 28, from 6-8 p.m.
A funeral will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church Saturday, July 29, at 10 a.m.
She will be buried at Alleghany Memorial Park in Covington Saturday at 4 p.m.
