James Edward Putnam, 54, (lovingly known as Hank by many), formerly a resident of Clifton  Forge, VA passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 21st, 2018.

A beloved brother, father, uncle and friend.  

He is proceeded in death by his parents Dennis D. Putnam, Sr. and Patricia L. Putnam, both of Clifton Forge and two nieces; Zuleima Martinez and Sara Lee Kibbe. 

James leaves behind three children, Eddie Roberts, Kristofer Putnam (Paula), Patrick Putnam and his two beautiful grandchildren Noah and Sarah Putnam. 

He is survived by his five siblings : Dennis ( Betty), George, John ( Francis), David and his only sister Lucy. James also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews that he loved and cared for.
 

James was born on April 5, 1964.

He was a graduate of Clifton Forge High School in 1982. 

He went on to follow his siblings as a truck driver for 20+ years before transitioning to work as a mechanic at the Paint Bank Buffalo Farm.

James enjoyed his travels and loved sightseeing in his time off.

He made time to visit Texas often to see his sister and her children. He loved spending time with family and friends. He was avid Star Wars fan, loved all Sci-Fi and collected elephants. 

The family will hold a family night service at Nicely Funeral home in Clifton Forge on Monday June 25th, 2018 from 5-7p.m.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations be sent to DaVita Greenbrier Dialysis center in Lewisburg, WV.

The family appreciates their excellent care and dedication . Mail donations in his name to 9745 Seneca Trail S, Lewisburg, WV 24901. 

During this time the family would like to extend a special thank you to his devoted sister in law Betty Putnam and his close friend Gordy.
