Is it safe to line the inner rims of my eyes with my favorite eyeliner?

Lining the inside of your lash line can be a challenge for several reasons.
The makeup wears off faster, can mess with your vision and make you prone to an icky eye disease.
Not to mention the need to have a steady hand so you don’t poke your eye out.
A recent study found that an eyeliner pencil applied to the inner lash lines wore off quickly compared to liner applied to the outside lash line.
In the study, the inner-rim liner often came off within 10 minutes of application with almost no product left after two hours.
Inner-rim lining can especially be a bad idea for contact wearers or those with dry or sensitive eyes – not to mention for those that like their makeup to last all day.
Your eyeliner can harbor bacteria therefore using it to line the inner rims of your eyes could be just as bad as shoving it into your eye.
Ouch!
However, if you absolutely love the look of lined inner lids, try to save the look for special occasions as opposed to your everyday look.
Before applying it, always sharpen and/or clean the tip with a tissue dipped in rubbing alcohol.
And remember to toss the liner in your purse for regular touchups.
