Bernice Blair Simmons Deisher, age 96, of 3406 Douthat State Park Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Friday, March 23, 2018.
She was born March 2, 1922 in Iron Gate to the late Abraham Jonathan Simmons, Sr. and Stella Gertrude Clarkson.  

She was a homemaker throughout her life, and worked as a clerk for the former Chesapeake and Ohio Hospital.  She also served as assistant manager of the Masonic Theatre and sold tickets there. She was a member of Walton Memorial United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught the Youth Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Augusta Deisher, Sr.; a brother, Homer Simmons; five sisters, Mary Simmons Capalbi, Hazel Simmons Piscunere, Dorothy Simmons Myers, Patsy Simmons Griner, and Phyllis Simmons Huffman; and a grandson, Troy Merritt Deisher.
She is survived by two sons, Jesse A. Deisher, Jr. and wife Reva of Clifton Forge, and Ramon B. Deisher and wife Brenda of Fincastle; a daughter, Judy Deisher Coleman of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Frances Bober of Michigan and Alice Wilkerson of Lynchburg; four brothers, C. L. Simmons and wife Mary of Clifton Forge, Donald Simmons and wife Robin of Eagle Rock, A. J. Simmons and wife Gertrude of Clifton Forge, and Robert Simmons and wife Linda of Covington; three grandchildren, Ramon B. Deisher, Jr. and wife Ann, Candice M. Deisher, and Deborah A. Coleman; three great grandchildren, Ethan Deisher, Emily Deisher, and Christian Dew; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Bill Bearden officiating. 

Interment will take place in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.  

Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service.

The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Jesse & Reva Deisher, 3015 Douthat Road, Clifton Forge, VA.
The family suggest memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Walton Memorial United Methodist Church, 3015 Douthat Road, Clifton Forge, VA  24422.
