Covington Hosts Tri-Match

Covington hosted Northside and Greenbrier East in a tri-match Wednesday night at the Cougar Den.
Northside scored a 42-18 win over the Cougars, while East defeated the hosts 48-15.
Brandon Motter, George Young and Kent Bullock all posted pins in the match against the Vikings.
Bullock completed a 2-0 night with a pin against the Spartans, while Tristan Hall and Blaine Pettitt received forfeit victories.
“I’m happy with how the kids wrestled tonight,” said CHS?coach Randy Phillips. “We’ve got a small team, but they’ve got a lot of fight. So, I’m just proud. Each time they come out they give it 120 percent. That’s all I can ask for.”
Greenbrier East defeated Northside, 43-10, in the first dual match of the night.
Covington will wrestle in the Class 1, Region C Sub-Regional on Friday at Rural Retreat.
