MONETA — Alleghany put together a fifth place team finish at the River Rumble wrestling tournament at Staunton River High School Saturday.
The Mountaineers scored 162 team points, just behind fourth place Jefferson Forest (165.5).
The top three teams in the event were Staunton River (213.5), Brookville (200.5) and William Byrd (187.5).
Alleghany’s Zack Silver and Justin Hall were runners-up in their weight classes.
Victor Goldberg, Ethyn Kimberlin and Justin Clarke all placed third, Haydon Washburn and Shawn Carter were fourth, while Joseph Edwards, Alex Caruthers and Travis Fridley finished fifth.
The Mountaineers will wrestle in the Hornet Duals at Wilson Memorial High School Edwards on Saturday.
