Board Of Supervisors To Meet At Low Moor Governmental Complex

LOW?MOOR?— The Alleghany County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Low Moor governmental complex.
Supervisors will receive an update from Susan Hammond of the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Under unfinished business, supervisors will consider a resolution to apply for a Community Development Block Grant for a revitalization project in Wrightsville.
New business will include:
— Lease financing for fire equipment.
— A?contract with Blue Ridge Rescue Suppliers for four fire trucks.
— Efforts to preserve the Green Pastures Recreation Area.
— A resolution relating to projects using CDBG?funding and designating a grants compliance officer.
— A?supplemental appropriation of grant funds for Phase V of the Jackson River Scenic Trail.
— An?engineering contract with Hurt &?Proffitt of Blacksburg for Phase V?of the Jackson River Scenic Trail.
— A?grant application to the U.S. Forest Service for Phase V of the Jackson River Scenic Trail.
— Appointing a supervisor to the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism board of directors.
— An appointment to the planning commission.
— An appointment to the water and sewer commission.
— An appointment to the industrial development authority.
There will be a closed meeting to discuss the following:
— Disposition of public property and  litigation matters.
