LOW?MOOR? — The Alleghany County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday recognized 10 county employees who retired in 2018.
The retirees who were commended include:
— Sunny Taylor, county administrator’s office, 10 years, six months.
— George Lewis, public works, 19 years.
— Shelly Mongold, public works, 30 years.
— Virgil Reid, public works, 30 years, two months.
— Donna Wooding, social services, 30 years, three months.
— Charles Moorman, public works, 31 years.
— Basil Bryant, public works, 32 years.
— Lance Carson, social services, 34 years, seven months.
— Ruby Simmons, treasurer’s office, 35 years, 11 months.
— Mickey Craghead, sheriff’s office, 38 years, six months.
“These folks gave it all and I just cannot say enough about you all. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you the best retirement that you can possibly have,” said Sharon District Supervisor Cletus Nicely.
“I?am sad to say that there are a lot of names on this list and there is a lot of knowledge that’s going to leave here at one time,” Supervisor Chairman Steve Bennett said.
Supervisors passed resolutions in recognition of each retiree and recognized them at the board’s December business meeting held Tuesday night in Low Moor.
