Mickey Brafford

GOODE — Melvin “Mickey” Gray Brafford, of Goode, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Saturday, March 16, 2019.
Mickey leaves behind to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Sylvia J. Brafford; children, Christine Richardson (Brent), Leigh Doss (Steve), Harry Wolfe Jr. (Debbie), Bruce Alan Wolfe, Vernon Wolfe (Susan), Harvey Wolfe (Salley), Ivan Wolfe (Thuy) and Elizabeth “Libby”?Rexrode (Tim); 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Prentice Carrington Brafford and Bertha Allgood Brafford; and sister, Linda Sue Brafford.
After completing his technical education, Mickey had a fulfilling career with Verizon as a central office technician.
Mickey was a ham radio enthusiast who enjoyed entering contests and attending clubs for ham radio.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Mickey’s life at Oakland United Methodist Church in Goode, Wednesday, March 20, at 11 a.m.
The family will receive friends at Tharp Funeral Home tonight from 6-8 p.m.
