Weekend snowfall closed schools and completely wiped out Monday’s area sports schedule.
High schools events postponed included:
• Giles at Alleghany, boys basketball;
• Craig County at Covington, girls basketball;
• Bath County at Eastern Montgomery, girls basketball.
The only make-up date announced was for the Craig, Covington girls game — January 25.
Clifton Middle School’s home basketball doubleheader with Parry McCluer was moved to Wednesday.
Covington youth basketball games and youth volleyball games were also postponed.
