Kyle Vernon Largen, Sr., 76, of Glace, WV, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019, at the Cleveland Clinic.
Kyle was born September 8, 1942, in Glace, WV, to the late Walter Everette and Mary Fox Largen.
He was loved and adored dearly by his family.  He did everything he could to help and support his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Kyle played baseball and basketball at Gap Mills High School where he graduated at the age of 16.  He attended WVU and was a member of the WVU ROTC.  He worked for Westvaco for more than 43 years, was a member of PACE Union Local 675, and retired as a Foreman.  Before beginning his career at Westvaco, he was a timber cutter.  Kyle was an avid hunter and enjoyed trout fishing.  He was also a skilled carpenter and helped his children with home construction and carpentry.  He was a farmer and a mechanic.  No task was too big or too hard for him.
Kyle was a huge supporter of Little League and coached his son’s baseball and basketball teams for eight years.  He also coached his granddaughter’s softball teams and assisted with her training.  He attended soccer matches and other activities for his grandsons.  In his later years, he enjoyed attending his grandson’s baseball games and his great-granddaughters’ softball and basketball games and assisting with training them.
Kyle helped raise his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as he provided support, daycare and babysitting, and drove them to doctors’ appointments, sports practices and games, or anywhere they needed to go.  He was their beloved and treasured companion.  No words can express the gratitude and appreciation his family has for him, and any tribute to him would not be nearly enough. Kyle, Husband, Dad and Papaw will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife of over 58 years, Wanda June Pyne Largen; children, Teresa Bostic and husband Edwin, Nancy Graham and husband Homer, and Kyle Largen, Jr. and wife Crystal; grandchildren, Peggy Carola and husband Joey, Daniel Vaughan, Bruce Vaughan, Kayla Williamson and husband Jason, and Connor Largen; great granddaughters, Lily and Mya Carola, Jayla and Kylie Williamson;
Family will receive friends at 2:00 pm, and the Funeral Service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
