The following local entities will close for the observance of upcoming holidays Lee-Jackson Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day:
— Alleghany County/ Covington Health Department will be closed Friday, Jan. 18, for the observance of Lee-Jackson Day and Monday, Jan. 21, for the observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day;
— The County Offices (Alleghany County Governmental Complex) will be closed Monday, Jan. 21, for the observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day;
— The Island Ford Transfer Station will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21;
— The Clifton Forge Town Offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. (Please place any payments in the drop box located out front.)
