Robert Eugene “Bud” Phillips, 80, of 7820 Ogles Creek Road died Saturday, December 15, 2018, in Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital at Lowmoor.
Mr. Phillips was born November 30, 1938, in Greenbrier County, WV, a son of the late Gordon E. Ridgeway and Pansy Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, Mary Jane Walton Phillips, in 2016, two infant children, David Phillips and Karen Phillips, and also by three brothers and two sisters.
He was a veteran of the Korean War with the U.S. Army and received a Purple Heart Medal. He was the founder and retired owner of Phillips Roofing and Supply Co. in Covington. He was a member of Ogles Creek Baptist Church and the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are three Sons and Daughters-in-law, Robert and Angela Phillips, Jimmy and Wendy Phillips and William and Suzanne Phillips, all of Covington; four Daughters; Linda Sizer, Kathy Curry and her husband, Gary, Sandy Fox and her husband, Greg, and Lorraine May all of Covington; 16 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two Sisters, Bonnie Miller of Henderson, KY and Debbie Mullens and her husband, Tony, of Richmond and a number of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.
The funeral service will be held Friday, December 21, 2018, at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Shorty Wolfe officiating.
Following the service, the family will receive their friends at Arritt Funeral Home and at other times and Kathy and Gary Curry’s at 7012 Ogles Creek Rd. Covington, VA 24426.
