CLIFTON FORGE — The Sharon Ruritan Club recently held their meeting at Scott Hill Retirement Center in Clifton Forge.
Following a  meal and short business meeting, the club joined members of the Big Rock Church Choir in conducting a hymn sing with the residents of Scott Hill.
Joining the members of the Sharon Club were Natural Bridge District Governor Dianne Swink and her husband Don, both of Lexington, in addition to National Ruritan Director Larry Bowman of Lewisburg, W.Va.
The Sharon club plans a trash pick-up for their next meeting.
This is one of the community service projects conducted each spring when Ruritans clean the roadway around Exit 35 on Interstate 64 and then continue on Longdale Furnace Road up North Mountain.
Volunteers would be appreciated and are asked to meet at the clubhouse on Nicelytown Road at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, ready to work.
Appropriate clothing to walk in tall grass and weeds is advised.
This is an opportunity to work with the Ruritans and get to know them and their work done in the community. Only inclement weather will postpone the event.
For more information, pleas call President Mike Layton at (540) 862-2151 or Linda Archer at (434) 609-2968.
