COVINGTON, VA (VR) – The Alleghany Cruisers are gearing up for one of the area’s biggest events, the Back the Blue Weekend.

This event will be held on June 26-27 at the beautiful Jackson River Sports Complex.

The weekend kicks off Friday night June 26 at 6:00 PM with a performance by the FENDER BENDERS.

The FENDER BENDERS performs a variety of music and is always ready to have a good time in addition to the concert, the Alleghany Cruisers will be hosting a Cruise In from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. This is a totally free event and is being presented by the City of Covington Department of Parks & Recreation.

On Saturday June 27 the main event comes to the Jackson River Sports Complex, the 7th Annual Back the Blue Scholarship Car Show. This event will run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm with registration opening at 8:00 am.

The show is open to any type of vehicle. Show entrants will receive free gifts, goodie bags, dash plaques, and will be eligible for the Law Enforcement Pick awards and many door prizes.

“The Back the Blue Scholarship Car Show has become one of the regions most anticipated car shows.”: said Alleghany Cruisers President Robert Floyd. “We are really excited about the seventh edition of this great, family friendly, event.”

In addition to the many vehicles, the show will feature food and merchandise vendors, activities for children including LASER TAG presented by Mountain Rush, a live D.J., a 50/50 drawing, law enforcement displays and demonstrations, many door prizes, and a large raffle including a two-piece deluxe toolbox, a Blackstone flat top grille, a YETI cooler, a DeWalt engine starter, cornhole boards, and many more items. There will also be $1,000 in cash drawings for those that enter a vehicle in the show.

All of the proceeds from the Back the Blue Scholarship Car Show are contributed to the Back the Blue Scholarship Fund. Each year the Alleghany Cruisers award scholarships to area high school seniors that wish to further their education in the law enforcement, criminal justice, or related field. For 2026 the scholarship was awarded to Alleghany High School senior’s Kyliee Forbes and MaKaylee Loudermilk. Both of these area graduates will be furthering their education in the criminal justice field.

“The Alleghany Cruisers are committed to supporting our men and women that protect and serve in the law enforcement community.”: said Floyd. “The purpose of this event is to both raise money for the scholarship and honor those working in law enforcement, and of course, have a great time doing it.”

When the sun sets on the Back the Blue Scholarship Car Show it will be time for the 3rd Annual Back the Blue Bash. This event will be held at the River Rock Amphitheater from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. ROCK BOTTOM BRIDGE will be performing a high energy concert that is sure to be a hit with area residents. In addition to the free concert there will be food service, a 50/50 drawing, a drawing for a flat screen TV, and a raffle for a G Force
