Pulaski County played their way into the regions Monday night at Mountaineer Gym.
Hayden Gray scored a game-high 16 points, including a pair of back-breaking fourth quarter threes, leading the Cougars to a 73-61 win over Alleghany.
The game was scheduled last week to complete both teams’ regular season 22-game slate.
Alleghany had a game with Bath County postponed and not made up and Pulaski had one with Lord Botetourt cancelled.
The win vaulted Pulaski past Carroll County for the last spot in the Class 4, Region D tournament.
Jayson Easton led the Mountaineers with 13 points.
Alleghany ended the season with a record of 7-15.
“I felt like we left some (wins) on the table, but the guys played hard in all 22 games,” said AHS?coach Nolan Caldwell. “As a coach that’s all you can ask for.”
