City School Board To Convene Monday

The Covington City School Board will hold a joint meeting with Covington City Council Monday at 5 p.m. in the Cafetorium of Edgemont Primary School/ Jeter-Watson Intermediate School.
Items on the agenda for the joint meeting with Covington City Council include:
— A discussion regarding scheduling routine meetings between city council and the Covington City School Board;
— A discussion regarding the 2019-2020 fiscal year budget.
Following the joint meeting, the Covington City School Board will hold its regular meeting for March at 6:30 p.m., also taking place in the Edgemont Primary School/Jeter-Watson Intermediate School Cafetorium.
Items on the agenda for the regular school board meeting of the Covington City School Board include the following:
— Recognitions/Delegations: Student Recog-nition for Gara McDaniel; 4-H Alleghany Highlands Partnership (Christina Hodges and Lee Ann Gray); Student Publication Recognition for Evan Rose;
— SMART GOALS and Strategic Plan Update;
— New Business:?CHS?Overnight Field Trip from Thursday, March 21, through Saturday, March 23, for Model General Assembly in Richmond; Policy IFKA — Locally Awarded Verified Credit (revision);
— Committee &?Joint Board Reports;
— Superintendent’s Re-ports: Attendance Updates; Celebrations of Arts at Covington High School, March 29 and 30; EPS Kindergarten and Pre-K Registration, March 5 and 12 (5:30-7:30 p.m.); EPS Child Find 2019, March 21 (4-7 p.m.) (April 11 snow day); 2018-2019 Calendar (April 23 possible make up day); Parent/Teacher Con-ferences (held Feb. 22); Black History Month Up-dates from Covington City Public Schools; 10 Year Celebration for EPS/JWIS?(August 2019).
Following the regular meeting, the Covington City School Board will meet in closed session to discuss personnel appointments and resignations.
