CLIFTON FORGE — Camp Accovac will host Children’s Day Saturday at Lone Star Advent Christian Church on Nicelytown Road, near Clifton Forge.
The event will be open to children between the ages of 5 and 12.
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m.
At 10 a.m., there will be a time of worship and singing led by Robin Powell and Dallas Reynolds.
The featured speaker will be “Balloon Dude” Travis Schwartz from Lynchburg. Saturday will mark his third apparence at Children’s Day.
Schwartz uses balloon art to teach the Bible to children. With his family, Schwartz moved to Lynchburg from Pittsburgh, Pa., several years ago. In Pittsburgh, he worked for an expert balloon twister, Mike the Balloon Guy.
The theme for Children’s day will be: “I Am the Vine, You are the Branches,” based on John 15:5 from the New Testament. The theme will be carried out in all activities.
Lunch will be provided. The day will end with a closing service at 2 p.m.

Camp Accovac is owned and operated by the Virginia Conference of Advent Christian Churches.
Camp Accovac offers two weeks of camp for ages 7-12 June 16-22 and June 23-29. Sports, music and drama camp for ages 12-18 is offered June 30-July 6. A work and wilderness camp is scheduled for July 7-13.
Camp application forms will be available Saturday during Children’s Day.
