Chargers Fall In Season Opener

FRANKLIN, W.Va. — Tim Thorne had some kind of day here Monday.
The Pendleton County shortstop went 4-for-4, including two doubles and a triple, scored twice and drove in six runs, leading the Wildcats past Bath County, 13-3, in five innings.
Pendleton scored five times in the bottom of the first to take the lead and tacked on runs in every inning.
Bath County, who outhit their hosts 10-8, was led by Billy Baldwin, Joseph Stover and Austin Dean, who all had two hits each.
Baldwin had a double and a triple.
Nathan Dressler and Cole Plott both pitched for the Chargers, combining to allow nine earned runs, while striking out three and walking eight.
Wildcat starter Aiden Cooney went three innings to earn the mound win.
Bath County (0-1) plays their home opener next Monday against Buffalo Gap.
