The Alleghany Highlands Regional Library continues its Digital Literacy series with computer classes being held on Saturday, Jan. 12, and Tuesday, Jan. 26.
Local instructor Adrienne Young will offer Computer Basics I at 11 a.m. on Jan. 12. Topics to be covered include getting to know the computer, learning the parts of the computer, and terminology, as well as developing mouse and keyboarding skills.
Email Basics will be offered during the 1 p.m. session on Jan. 12. Young will show participants how to create an account, compose and send and navigate an email account. Those attending are asked to bring a cell phone to verify their email accounts and passwords.
Young will again teach the Computer Basics I class on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 6:30 p.m. This session will cover the same topics and is being offered again for people who were unable to attend the Saturday session.
There is no charge to participate in the scheduled classes, and both teens and adults may sign up. Space is limited, and registration is required. Stop by the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library or call the staff at 962-3321 to register.
