Jeff Byer apparently didn’t read the tournament rules closely last Friday night at Thunder Alley.
Bowling in the Alcova Mortgage no-tap tournament (nine count on first ball counts as a strike), Byer tossed 12 natural strikes in a row for a 300 in the tournament’s second game on the way to a lights-out 928 winning series.
The tournament features a four-game format with bowlers able to throw out their low game.
Byer’s counting games with handicap were 324, 302 and 302.
Jack Hepler (882), Chris Lindsay (877), Dwayne Downey (868) and Matt Paxton (810) completed the high-scoring top five.
