SINKS GROVE, WV — Anthony Dwayne “Tony” Burns, age 53, of Sinks Grove, WV, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019 at his residence following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Tony was born August 16, 1965 at Union, WV and was the son of John W. and Sherry Thomas Burns of Sinks Grove, WV. He was a 1983 graduate of Union High School. Tony was a certified mechanic and had worked for Alleghany Motors for over 30 years. He was very talented and well skilled in mechanical work and was a master “tinkerer and piddler”. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. 
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Ruby Burns and Marion and Isabelle Thomas. 
Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Donna Dixon Burns of Sinks Grove, WV; two daughters, April Dawn Dixon of Bluefield, WV, and Amanda Blanche Wolfe and husband Shane of Covington, VA; one brother, Tommy Burns and wife Helen of Sinks Grove, WV; one sister, Andi Hedrick and husband Justin of Frankford, WV; three grandchildren, Matthew Austin Elmore, Connor Lattie, and Anthony Michael Hicks; special nephews, Eric Burns of Ronceverte, WV and Sawyer Hedrick of Frankford, WV. 
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Chapel at Union, WV with Pastor Steve Noel officiating.
Burial will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery at Pickaway, WV.
Friends may call Monday, February 18, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Matthew Elmore, Shane Wolfe, Justin Hedrick, Mike Dixon, Darrell Bean, Wade Lively, Eric Burns, and Don Guinn will serve as pallbearers.
The Family would like to send a special thank you to the Ambulance Crew that assisted them.
The family humbly requests memorial donations be made to Groves-Mann Funeral Home P.O. Box 212 Union, WV 24983 to assist with funeral/medical cost.
