RICHMOND, Va. (VR) – From left, Sophia Colwill, Peyton Broughman, Elijah Halterman, and Logan Walton, members of the Alleghany High School Model General Assembly Club, attended the 79th Virginia Model General Assembly in Richmond, a student-run simulation of the state legislature that provides hands-on learning about government and public policy. The club is sponsored by Steven Huffman and Tracey Spangler. At the Model General Assembly, Colwill served as a Senate committee chair, and Halterman served as sergeant-at-arms and on the media team.
