COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Covington Middle School softball delivered a commanding 21-0 win, powered by a relentless offensive attack and a dominant performance in the circle.
Mallory Hale led the way at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and a single, driving in four runs. Lainey Rice matched the perfect day, finishing 3-for-3 with three singles and two RBIs.
Annistyn Lewis added extra-base production, going 2-for-2 with a double and a triple while collecting three RBIs. Willow Miller drove in two runs on a 1-for-1 outing, while Tori Bowers went 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Abby Forbes finished 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, Stella Via went 1-for-1 with an RBI single, and Aubree McAllister added a 1-for-2 performance with a single.
In the circle, Allyssa Shifflett was dominant, striking out 10 while allowing just one hit and no runs.
Covington’s offense controlled the game throughout, tallying 12 stolen bases and drawing 10 walks while piling on runs in every phase to secure the shutout victory.
