TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Virginia posted the third-best final round of any team which led to a fifth-place finish at the Florida State Match Up on Sunday (March 22). Freshman Remi Bacardi, competing as an individual, tied for fourth place.

As a team, the Cavaliers turned in a 3-over, 291 on the final day and was 25-over (889) in the 54-hole event. Only Eastern Michigan (288) and Illinois (287) had a better closing round the Virginia. Florida State captured the team title and was the only team under par for the tournament (4-under, 860).

Bacardi shot a 68 on Sunday, tied with Kaitlyn Schroeder (North Florida) for the lowest round of any player in the 69-player field over the course of three days at Seminole Legacy Golf Club. Teeing off No. 10, her scorecard had seven birdies on it including five in her first eight holes. The top 10 was the first of her Cavalier career.

Jaclyn Laha shot a 2-under 70 in her final round and finished tied for ninth. It marked her fifth top 10 finish of the season. Laha was 1-under (71-74-70, 215) for the tournament and joined Bacardi as one of 10 players in the field to post a 54-hole score under par.

Kennedy Swedick finished tied for 22nd and shot a 1-over, 73 on Sunday. She played the Par 3s at 3-under this weekend, the best of any player in the field.
