Alleghany Girls Tennis Rolls to 7–2 Victory

STAUNTON, Va. (VR) – The Lady Cougars handled Staunton from start to finish, closing the win in doubles.

Alleghany took 5 of 6 singles, losing only the top spot. Lanie McCormick and Hayden Terry. gave Staunton its only point, cruising to an 8–0 win on match one. 

Haley Ryder rolled 8–1, Alaya Morgan took an 8–5 win, and Kara Nicely battled back to take her second set 7–4. Mylee Dunbar stayed close and took her match, while Lexy Wills finished with an 8–0 sweep.

Carrying a 5–1 lead into doubles, the Cougars closed it out. McCormick and Morgan lost the opener 3–8, but Ryder and Wills won 8–2, and Kara Nicely and Dunbar followed with an 8–1 victory.

In an exhibition, Grace, Emma Wolfe and Gracyn Proff cruised to an 8–1 win.
