John Michael Dawson
John Michael Dawson, age 72, of Potts Creek, Covington, Virginia died on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Heritage Hall Health and Rehab in Lexington, Virginia.
John was born on June 10, 1953 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Joseph Chapman Dawson and Mary Belle Givens Dawson. He worked as a tire mechanic for Wholesale Tire in Clifton Forge.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a son, Mike Dawson; two sisters, Dorothy Clark and Emma Wright; and two brothers, Billy Dawson and Bobby Dawson.
He is survived by two daughters, Sarah Dawson and Katie Dawson; a son, Scotty Dawson; a sister, Linda Wright; a brother, Dean Dawson (Theresa); and a number of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. The family will visit with friends on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
