Virginia State Police Investigating Fatal Crash in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (VR) – Virginia State Police is investigating a single-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred Wednesday (Feb 18) at 1:20 p.m. on Booker T. Washington Highway, near High Meadows Drive in Franklin County.

A 2006 Chevrolet C4 was traveling north on Booker T. Washington Highway, when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, crossed the roadway and down an embankment rolling over, ejecting the passenger.

The passenger, Marcus Dillard Keen, 21, of New Castle, Va., was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet was wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries.

Charges are pending.

The crash remains under investigation.
