SALEM, Va. (VR) – Curtis A Smith VFW Post 1033 Auxiliary visited the Salem VA on Monday, to play bingo and celebrate Valentines Day with cupcakes and drinks. Special guest, Nancy White, Department of Virginia VSVA representative, was on hand to call numbers and enjoy the fun,
Post 1033 Auxiliary visits Salem VA quarterly to play bingo with the CLC (Community Living Center) veterans. It has been well received by veterans and staff alike. Molly Hayslett, Recreation Therapist, can be found assisting players with their cards and bringing smiles to their faces.
Thank you to James Ferris, CDCE and Cheryl Ponce, MHA (CDCE Specialist) from Volunteer Services for all they do to assist us in making these visits special for the veterans. We are honored to go and spend time with these men who made a sacrifice.
At the end of the day, a very special Navy veteran said “thank you for doing this” and that is why we go.
