FISHERSVILLE, Va. (VR) – Alleghany ran into a hot-shooting Wilson Memorial team and suffered an 84-50 Shenandoah District loss Tuesday night in Fishersville. The Cougars fell to 9-2 in district play and 13-4 overall as the Green Hornets connected on 12-of-22 shots from 3-point range, including 8-of-12 in the first half. Wilson used a 33-11 second quarter to pull away.
Bubby Entsminger led Alleghany with 18 points. Des Jordan scored seven, Talyn Elliott finished with six points and six rebounds, and Tucker Phillips added six points, five rebounds and three blocked shots.
In JV action, Alleghany dropped a 54-36 decision after being outscored 24-7 in the fourth quarter. Gabe Salamanca led the Cougars with 11 points. Mehki Peterson and Jaxon Brewster added seven each, with Brewster grabbing seven rebounds.
