SALEM Va. (VR) – The Cougar boys’ 4×400 relay team of Miles Christian, Brycen Griffith, Evan Bishop and Maddox Wickline continued its dominance, winning the event for the fifth time this season with a first-place finish in 3:39.26, completing a clean sweep of East Coast Elite meets.
Other top-five finishes for AHS included Ja’Kara Heighter, who turned in a personal-best performance in the 55-meter dash, Kiera Lowman in the 500 meters, and JeSean Riddick with a personal-best in the high jump. Brycen Griffith also added a top-five effort in the triple jump.
The Cougars now turn their attention to postseason competition and will compete in the Class 3, Region C meet next Saturday at the Edward S. Long Jr. Track Complex at the Rockingham Recreation Center in Penn Laird.
