FOREST, Va. (VR) – The Roanoke College softball team was picked to finish fifth Friday in the 2026 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) preseason poll, as voted on by the league’s coaches.
FOREST, Va. (VR) – The Roanoke College softball team was picked to finish fifth Friday in the 2026 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) preseason poll, as voted on by the league’s coaches.
Virginia Wesleyan University topped the poll with 100 points and 10 first-place votes. Bridgewater College followed with 87 points, Randolph-Macon College was third with 83, and the University of Lynchburg fourth with 73. Roanoke rounded out the top five with 67 points in the 11-team conference.
Roanoke will feature No. 15 Laken Cantrell in the outfield this season. Cantrell is a 2025 graduate of Alleghany High School.
The Maroons open the 2026 season on Feb. 14 at Greensboro College.
