RADFORD — The Alleghany boys tennis team opened their Three Rivers District schedule with an 8-1 win over Radford Monday.
The Mountaineers swept the six singles matches to clinch the victory.
“Radford is much improved,” said AHS?coach Seth Davis. “The final score is very misleading. There were a lot of close matches. I think it will help us in the long run.
“We were able to sub in for doubles and it was great to see Tavi (Wright) and Charles (Hoanker) get their first wins. I was really impressed with Dominic and Chris in doubles. They are both attacking the net.”
Alleghany (1-0 TRD, 4-0 overall) plays at Buffalo Gap on Wednesday.
