In Plano, Texas, there is a dog-friendly theater that allows up to two of your fur babies to accompany you.
Are you serious?
You’re telling me that I can go to the movies and bring my best buddies with me? Sign me up!
K9 Cinemas is the theater in Texas that is pet-friendly. They only play older films and not newly-released ones.
I personally could care less when the film came out. If my dogs are allowed to come, then that’s all that matters to me!
Of course, there are such rules for the dog owners such as; cleaning up after them and providing paperwork that shows proof that your dogs shots are all up to date.
That last one is very important in case of a situation where dogs got into a fight and one of them was not up to date with the shots. And cleaning up after your pet should be a given! It would be like taking your dog for a walk or taking them to the dog park and cleaning up after them. Although, many of you do not clean up after them and that is a sanity issue. I don’t want myself or my dogs most importantly walking in it. Feces create diseases and for those of you who do not clean up after them, maybe you ought to start looking into it, don’t be lazy, it’s not that difficult. It’s like using your turn signals in a vehicle, BUT that topic is for another day!
But how cool is this! You get to have a night out and have your fur babies with you. They deserve the night out just as much as we do. I am a big dog lover and love my two fur babies more than just about anything. I hate it when I leave them at home when I go to work or out. While we all need that time away for ourselves, us dog lovers want as much time with them. And most importantly, they want it even more. They look to us as that guide for them. Their unconditional love for us is their bond with us. Too many animals and not just dogs are abused by terrible owners or people in general, we as a society should better ourselves for our fur babies. They aren’t with us long, so we should make the best out of each day with them. We are their providers and for myself, I know I make each day count with them, but I always feel I can do more and something like this that K9 Cinemas has to offer is that start for them!
I don’t mean to get off topic with title of the article, but it is something I am passionate about with being a dog lover that I cannot steer away from it. Our animals love us and we need to love them more.
But back to K9 Cinemas, the rundown is for $15, you get your movie ticket, your fur babies (up to two) with you and bottomless wine or four whiskey drinks.
You read that correctly just like as it said in the title, BOTTOMLESS WINE!
For all you wine lovers (myself included) BOTTOMLESS WINE! How can you not beat this kind of a deal. I could care less if it is a new movie or not, I get bottomless wine OR whiskey (another thing I enjoy), a movie ticket and most importantly my best buddies with me for $15. If you’re like me, you cannot beat this deal. It is the perfect night out to include your fur babies with you. We don’t have many places we can take them with us except for some Hotels and some businesses such as Tractor Supply, Lowes, etc., this is something you cannot beat and we need more of it.
The bottomless wine, that’s just a bonus. Of course, I recommend if you’re going to take advantage of that bottomless wine deal to have a DD with you and never drink & drive. But what a bonus to go along with having the fur babies with you.
Now there will be the naysayers out there who will pick and pick about dogs being allowed at a movie theater. My response, is don’t go. These naysayers will question whether dogs can handle it with other dogs around, but guess what, that is a dogs nature. Of course they want to see the other dog, of course they may bark here and there, that is their instinct. They are curious and just being who they are as a dog. Instead of picking and picking for something negative to find about this, how about you embrace it. Embrace the fact we can have a night out with our dogs. Embrace the fact a business has a big heart to allow animals inside their facility. This is awesome and it should be embraced rather than questioned.
Yes, a dog will go up to another and it could bark during the movie, but so what. If it gets out of line with the barking, then that’s one thing and you calm them down or leave. But for the most part, you sit your dog with you, they’ll be right beside you to protect you and enjoy just you being there and being there with you. Even give them a bone to enjoy and they’ll enjoy the movie even more with you. Those same naysayers will question, well what about the gnawing sound of the bone and my response is, they’re enjoying their night out as well. They aren’t fighting or barking, so let them enjoy themselves to. Otherwise, just stay at home and watch a movie. The whole point to this theater is to allow yourself to bring your fur babies on a night out with you that they deserve to have as well.
And it’s not like it is a newly-released movie of the Avengers, or Star Wars, whatever it may be. It is an older movie to enjoy with your fur babies and a bottomless glass of wine as well! Can’t you tell, I could go for a glass of wine right about now! Anyways, as I said earlier on, we need more these theaters. But let’s not just stop there. Some businesses allow animals; stores, hotels, bars, let’s keep this going. If you look at your fur babies like the way I do, they are my children and I have such a big heart for them that I always want them around with me.
This is such an awesome thing that owner Eric Lanford has started that we need this to be a trend going forward with our fur babies. Let’s make them even more a part of our lives!
