In spite of a couple of quick and heavy downpours along with high winds, the Clifton Forge Downtown Market opened Thursday and will be open every Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. through August.
The market is located on Commercial Street between Northwest Ace True Value and the SonaBank plaza in downtown Clifton Forge.
Vendors offered jewelry, gluten-free chocolate, pork sausage, pork chops, herbs, seasonings, handmade canes, mushrooms, paintings and exotic plants.
“We did good on this opening day, in spite of the rain,” said Doug Houtz, who is in charge of the market this year. (P.E. Marshall Photo)
