DMV offices will be closed on the following days in 2026:
- January 19: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- February 16: George Washington Day
- May 25: Memorial Day
- June 19: Juneteenth
- July 3: Independence Day (Observed)
- September 7: Labor Day
- October 12: Columbus Day and Yorktown Victory Day

Customers don’t have to wait for offices to reopen. Most transactions can be completed in minutes, saving customers a trip to the DMV.
Customers are also encouraged to check the hours of their local DMV Select location, which may follow a different holiday schedule. DMV Select offices, mostly run by local governments, focus on vehicle-related transactions, such as registration renewals, title registrations, and license plates. The 2026 end-of-year holiday schedule will be announced at a later date.
