Meeks Plays In 3D Singles Event

BLACKSBURG — Abingdon’s Anna Campbell defeated Alleghany’s Tori Meeks, 6-0, 6-0, in the quarterfinals of the Class 3, Region D girls tennis singles tournament Friday at Virginia Tech.
“I think Tori did great for her first year being No. 1,” said AHS coach Nicole Fogus of the Mountaineer junior. “Making that jump from No. 4 to the top is a tough transition, but now that she’s got some experience under her belt, I think she’ll be ready for next year.”
Meeks will team with Nicole Gray in the 3D doubles tournament on Tuesday in Blacksburg.
