SWOOPE Va. (VR) – Alleghany used a balanced scoring effort to pull away early and cruise to a Shenandoah District win at Buffalo Gap.

Nine Cougars scored as Alleghany, jumped out to a 19-6 lead after one quarter and took a 30-14 advantage into halftime.

Bubby Entsminger led AHS with nine points, while Talyn Elliott added eight and Kevin Worley finished with seven.

Alleghany also claimed a 45-29 junior varsity victory. Jaxon Brewster paced the Cougars (3-1 Shenandoah, 6-3 overall) with 10 points, while Talin Raether and Buddy Leisure-White scored six each. Chase Richie had 14 points for the Bison JV, now 0-5 in district play.

Alleghany will host Wilson Memorial on Friday, both teams are unbeaten.
