COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Alleghany remained unbeaten Friday night, edging Stuarts Draft 51-48 in overtime in a tightly contested Shenandoah District matchup in the Cougar den.
The Cougars trailed by three entering the fourth quarter but closed regulation strong to force overtime, then finished the job to preserve their perfect record.
Bubby Entsminger led Alleghany with 21 points, including key baskets down the stretch, Derrick Moore led Stuarts Draft with 20 points.
Stuarts Draft struggled to slow Alleghany late, as the Cougars’ defense limited clean looks in overtime and capitalized at the foul line to secure the win.
