BUENA VISTA — Jacob Hamilton scored three goals, and Isaac Armstrong added a goal and four assists at Southern Virginia University Wednesday, leading Parry McCluer to a 7-0 win over Covington in the semifinals of the Pioneer District boys soccer tournament.
Jacob Wooten, Rayyan Balzan and Caden Ingram added goals for Parry McCluer, who improved to 7-5.
Covington fell to 3-10 with the loss.
“Terran Baker and Jacob Roldan were injured and couldn’t play tonight,” said Cougar coach Heather Baker. “Everyone put in a valiant effort. Jalen Angell and Evan Rose were our MVP’s.”
Covington will play Craig County in the district third place game on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at the Jackson River Sport Complex.
The game, originally scheduled for today, was moved to Saturday due to Craig County’s graduation.
