CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (VR) The Clifton forge Community Gathering will meet on Thursday, October 16 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in The Historic Masonic Theatre Auditorium.

The two topics for the evening include presentations on the Clifton Forge Strategic Plan and a Candidate Conversation which involves five Clifton Forge write-in candidates for the two seats on the Alleghany County Board of Supervisors.

Chuck Unroe, Clifton Forge Town Manager and Maria Saxton, Clifton Forge Director of Planning and Community Development will speak about the results gathered on a survey by the Alleghany Roanoke Valley Regional Commission and the development of a strategic plan for the town. The survey may be accessed from the main page of Town website and will be up until October 31.

The Candidate Conversation will include the five candidates running as write-in candidates for Alleghany County Board of Supervisors. Clifton Forge East District candidates are Dominique Washington, Shannon Miller Brantley and Patty McAnnally. Clifton Forge West District candidates are Greg Dodd and Courtney Howard. A moderator will direct community-generated questions to the candidates, and they will each have a specified time to answer the
questions.

The Clifton Forge Community Gatherings are held monthly to provide a forum for citizens. All residents, businesses and others interested in a dynamic future for Clifton Forge area are encouraged to attend. It is not necessary to be a resident of Clifton Forge to participate in the Community Gathering; all area citizens are welcome to participate. Attendees are encouraged to share ideas and strategies to make Clifton Forge a better place to live, work, play and do business. The Clifton Forge Community Gathering initiative, although not a part of the Clifton Forge Town Government, works closely with the Town. It serves as a vehicle to allow citizens to play an active role in the future of the town in cooperation with government leaders.
