Fourth Of July Activities At Jackson River Sport Complex

The Covington Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting several events on Thursday, July 4th, at the Jackson River Sport Complex.
The festivities begin at 3 p.m. with Nashville recording artist Bailey James, followed by Uptown from Roanoke, a dance band playing funk, 70s and today’s Top 40. They will perform from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. 
The July 4th festivities will conclude with a fireworks display, beginning at at around 9:30 p.m. 
Children’s activities will be provided throughout the day. 
The River Rock 2019 Summer Concert Series continues on Friday with On Common Ground taking the stage at 6:30 p.m. Band members are from Roanoke and right here in the Alleghany Highlands. They play a variety of genres of music. 
“Please come out and enjoy the 4th of July with Covington Parks and Recreation,”?said Allen Dressler, Covington Parks and Recreation director. 
Concessions will be available both evenings.
