Josh Taylor, special projects and marketing coordinator for the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, will conduct a seminar at the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library on the chamber’s upcoming summer events.
The seminar will be held on Saturday, May 11, at 11 a.m. in the community room.
Taylor will discuss three outdoor events to be held in the Highlands: the Jackson River Scenic Trail Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K; the Gran Fondo-Alleghany; and the Lake Moomaw Open Water Swim.
Taylor will also discuss the marketing and advertising aspect of these events and the economic impact on the area, as well as the young professionals group that has recently been revamped.
Taylor, who has worked with the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism since 2017, is a 2013 graduate of Radford University with a degree in special projects and tourism.
“I am excited to speak about the chamber’s outdoor events and all of the wonderful benefits of hosting them in the Alleghany Highlands. These events bring in athletes from all over the country who get to see just how beautiful and welcoming our region can be,” Taylor said.
The seminar is open to adults at no charge. Registration is not required. Stop by the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library or call the staff at 962-3321 for more information.
