State Superintendent, Decorated Teacher To Visit Highlands Schools

The Virginia State Superintendent of Schools Dr. James Lane will make a visit to Covington City Public Schools Monday, May 6, at 2 p.m.
Accompanying Lane will be the National Teacher of the Year, Rodney Robinson, of Richmond City Public Schools.
Dr. Lane and Mr. Robinson will make their visit at the Edgemont Primary School/Jeter-Watson Intermediate School site.
A 30-minute discussion of literacy improvement efforts and a visit of the students from the Teachers for Tomorrow CTE program will take place.
Following the visit to EPS/JWIS, Dr. Lane and Mr. Robinson will visit Alleghany High School at 3 p.m. to get a look at the New Tech program that is currently being utilized at AHS.
