SPRINGWOOD — James River won both ends of a varsity soccer doubleheader here Thursday.
The Knight girls won a 3-0 decision over the Mountaineers in the opener before River stopped the AHS boys 4-1.
Megan Hill had two goals and an assist for the James River girls (2-1 TRD, 3-2-1 overall) and Rachel Hix had the other goal.
Colleen Peery had seven saves for the Knights, while Alleghany keeper Emma Williams had 19.
In the boys contest, Tristan Flood netted two goals and had two assists to lead James River. (2-1 TRD, 4-2 overall). Craig Bowyer added two goals, Zack Noll added an assist and Tanner Dillow made 12 saves.
Roberto Juarez scored for Alleghany and keeper Dylan Burton had six saves.
The Mountaineer boys are now 3-4 (0-2 in the TRD) and the girls are 2-3-1 (0-2 in the TRD).
Both host Carroll County on Monday at Mountaineer Field.
