The Covington Division of Police is investigating the passing of a counterfeit bill at a local restaurant.
At approximately 9:27 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 26, a male subject entered the Subway on 1117 S. Craig Avenue and paid the cashier with a counterfeit $100 dollar bill.
The bill had a foreign language printed in red ink on the backside of the document.
“It is similar, but not the same as other bills we’ve seized in recent weeks,” a statement from the Covington Division of Police said.
The Covington Division of Police continues, “We ask that all businesses and individuals remain vigilant and contact us if you’ve received any suspected counterfeit currency.”
Please contact the Covington Division of Police at 540-965-6333 if you have any information regarding the identity of the pictured individual who is of interest in the incident (seen on the Covington Crime Stoppers Facebook page) or additional incidents of passing counterfeit bills.
